Very interesting visitor's center with a live bull snake and baby alligator you can pet! Wonderful trails and viewing platforms over the swamp. We watched a small alligator swim near is and met it's older cousin on one of the paths! Very exciting! There are picnic tables and grills. Very family friendly.

Fine bird watching. Beautiful hiking trails. A great place for families to experience nature and have a tree-shaded picnic. Kids love the Nature Center where they can pet a baby alligator.

This Park is a great hiking venue that's not far from home! Upon my first visit, I have the following tips: Bring cash to cover the admission fee ($7.00 per person). If visiting during summer, try to arrive as early as possible to take advantage of morning cooler temperatures. Wear comfortable clothes, shoes and a hat as you will find yourself walking around for hours melting under the sun. Also don't forget your sunblock and insect repellent! A small backpack to carry around some snacks and a couple of water bottles will surely make your visit much more enjoyable. Upon your hike you will encounter plenty of trees, lakes, birds, spiders and with some luck you will see some alligators! There are areas around the park with tables and charcoal grills perfect for a picnic with family and friends. Overall, a great way to connect with nature and escape your daily routine.

One of the best parks in the Houston area. Lots of wildlife, with alligator sightings a near certainty. A number of different trails to let you hike for whatever distance you want.

Nice place to go with the whole family. A lot of trial for walking. Picnic areas and restrooms are available through the whole park. Just be a aware that there are alligators. There are some little lakes but you cannot swim because of the alligators.
